Roimata is from Taranaki, a graduate of the University of Otago, Trinity
College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music London. Credits
include: Maria in WEST SIDE STORY (Buckingham Palace), Lucia in THE
RAPE OF LUCRETIA (BAC), Galatea in ACIS & GALATEA (BAC), the
Narrator in JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT
(Royal Festival Hall), LES MISERABLES (Theater des Westens Berlin), Mrs.
Potts, Madame de la Grande Bouche, Dance Captain and Swing in
DISNEY’S BEAUTY & THE BEAST (Stuttgart, Oberhausen, Berlin) and, first
cast Grizabella (Palladium Stuttgart), first cast Rumpleteazer (Theater am
Potsdamer Platz Berlin) and first cast Jellylorum/Griddlebone (Cologne &
Alte Oper Frankfurt) in CATS. For Icon Theatrical London she directed
and starred in THE SOPRANOS, THE SOPRANOS VERSUS THE TENORS, &
the rock show SOMEBODY TO LOVE (UK, European, Scandinavian &
South African Tours). From August 2016 – August 2019 Roimata was
starring as Miss Lark, Bird Woman & Miss Andrew in MARY POPPINS. In
2020 she was extraordinarily happy to perform on home turf as Lord Henry Carey & Lady
Margaret Clifford in Pop-Up Globe New Zealand’s production of the West End hit EMILIA.
Roimata has 3 daughters - an actress, a ballerina and a violinist.
